Most mail apps configure themselves if you enter your full email address and password. If autodiscovery fails, enter the settings manually.
Incoming mail (IMAP, recommended)
- Server: imap.hostlift.live
- Port: 993
- Encryption: SSL/TLS
- Username: your full email address
Outgoing mail (SMTP)
- Server: smtp.hostlift.live
- Port: 465 with SSL/TLS, or 587 with STARTTLS
- Authentication: required, same username and password as incoming
Why IMAP rather than POP3
IMAP keeps mail on the server and syncs folders and read status across every device. POP3 downloads and usually deletes, which means the message you read on your laptop is not on your phone. Only use POP3 if you have a specific reason.
If authentication fails repeatedly, check that you are using the full email address as the username rather than just the part before the @.
