Transferring consolidates billing and DNS in one place. The transfer price includes a one-year extension on the existing expiry date, so you never lose paid-up time.

Before you start

  • The domain must have been registered or last transferred more than 60 days ago. This is an ICANN rule, not ours.
  • Unlock the domain at your current registrar.
  • Disable WHOIS privacy temporarily so the authorisation email can reach you.
  • Request the EPP or authorisation code from your current registrar.

Running the transfer

  1. Start the transfer from the Domains section of your dashboard and pay the transfer fee.
  2. Paste the EPP code when prompted.
  3. Approve the confirmation email sent to the registrant address on the WHOIS record.
  4. Wait. Most transfers complete within five days; some registries release faster if you also approve at the losing registrar.
Your website and email keep working throughout. We copy your existing DNS records before the transfer begins so nothing changes at the moment of handover.

If the transfer is rejected

The usual causes are a locked domain, an expired EPP code, or a registrar-imposed 60-day lock after a recent contact change. Fix the cause and start again; the fee is refunded automatically if the transfer cannot complete.

Did this not solve it?

Open a ticket with the domain and what you were doing when it broke, and we will pick it up.
